The young bullfighter delivered a performance full of courage and ambition at Fallas, cutting one ear from each bull and being carried out on shoulders in Valencia.

The eighth event of the 2026 Fallas season in Valencia had a clear winner: Marco Pérez. The young matador produced a determined and committed performance, earning a Puerta Grande exit after cutting one ear from each of his Santiago Domecq bulls.

From his first appearance, Pérez made his intentions clear. The third bull of the afternoon, with rhythm and good movement, allowed him to build a faena that steadily gained intensity. He began on his knees, quickly engaging the crowd, and made the most of the bull’s right side to link a series of flowing passes with good control. In the final stages, he reduced the distance and added excitement with close-range work that lifted the atmosphere in the arena. A decisive sword thrust secured the first ear, with strong calls for a second.

The sixth bull proved more demanding. With less range and greater difficulty, it required determination and resilience. Pérez initially struggled to find the right approach, but through persistence he managed to draw out valuable passes, particularly on the right-hand side. Showing no hesitation, he committed fully to the kill, delivering an effective sword thrust that earned him another ear and confirmed his exit on shoulders.

Víctor Hernández also left a positive impression. With his first bull, he demonstrated a well-developed style and excellent positioning, producing clean, connected series—especially with the right hand—while also including some strong natural passes. However, a lack of precision with the sword cost him a trophy, and he settled for a lap of honour after a public request. His second bull offered little, allowing only a display of determination.

Miguel Ángel Perera, meanwhile, showed his experience with a difficult lot. He drew the best out of his opponents, particularly the replacement bull that came out fourth, where he produced his most notable moments. However, once again, his finishing with the sword prevented him from achieving a stronger result, leaving him to acknowledge the crowd from the ring.

The Santiago Domecq cattle were well presented overall, with several bulls offering good conditions alongside others that were less responsive, shaping the outcome of the afternoon.
