Popular festivities will once again have their place and prominence in the posters of the Feria de Fallas 2024 in Valencia. The bullring on Calle de Xàtiva will host a National Championship of Recortadores on Saturday 16th March, starting at 11 am. In addition, that same night, at 22.00 hours, the traditional Nit del Foc will be held, which will feature the release of ‘vacas falleras’ by Fernando Machancoses.

For starters, Valencia will once again be hosting the traditional Concurso Nacional de recortadores – an artistic and public success year after year – which this year has the novelty of the presence of Adolfo Martín bulls. The “albaserradas” that graze in El Escorial will return to the bullring in Xátiva Street for the “recortes” contest of the Feria de Fallas, where they have already been the protagonists of mornings of strong emotions.

It will take place on another morning, the 16th of March, in a show organised by the company Toropasión. In front of the bulls of Adolfo, one of the most highly regarded and reputed bulls among the aficionados of this art, twenty titans of popular bullfighting, among them, the intervention of Jonathan Estébanez ‘El Peta’ is expected after a historic performance twelve months ago.

And, after the evening’s festejo, at 22.00 hours, the special Machancoses, the legend of the cattle ranch of the M and the falleras cows, is announced. In this show, some of the most legendary recortadores will face the bulls of this mythical herd of popular festivities, which will once again step into the Valencian bullring in this emblematic reunion.

These specialists will be lined up in the ring in triplets, and in this way they will try to show off in front of the best known and most famous cows of the Machancoses family. Then it will be the turn of the most legendary movers, those who have thrilled the public over the last few decades.

The night will end with the “vacas falleras” in which the most famous bulls of the family will perform to put the perfect finishing touch to a day where the popular bullfighters will demonstrate their “pull” among the Levantine fans, who share and diversify their hobby with bullfighting in the bullring because of their passion for bullfighting in the street in all its meanings. And always with the bull as the protagonist.
