Valencia – The Plaza de Toros de Valencia is preparing to host one of its most anticipated events: the Fallas Fair 2025, running from the 8th to the 19th of March. This iconic bullring, nestled in the heart of the city, will open its doors to welcome established stars, promising newcomers, and the dedicated fans who, year after year, turn this event into a true ritual of passion and tradition.
The meticulously crafted lineup promises intense emotions in a programme that seamlessly blends classic and modern styles. There will be six corridas de toros (bullfights), two novilladas picadas (novice fights with picadors), one novillada sin picadores (novice fight without picadors), one corrida de rejones (bullfight on horseback), and three traditional festivities that will highlight the splendour of tauromaquia (bullfighting).
The fair will kick off on Saturday, 8th March, with a novillada with picadores, where Aarón Palacio, Marco Pérez, and J. Alberto Torrijos will test their courage against the young bulls from Talavante. It promises to be an exciting afternoon, setting the tone for what is sure to be an unforgettable fair.
On Sunday, 9th March, the spotlight will turn to the rising stars of bullfighting in a novillada sin picadores. Six young talents — Marco Polope, Nicolás Cortijo, Daniel Fuentes, El Mosti, Clovis, and Ignacio Garibay — will aim to win over the audience as they face the bulls from José González.
Youth will again take centre stage on Thursday, 13th March, in a novillada picada featuring the challenging bulls from Fuente Ymbro for El Mene, Javier Zulueta, and Simón Andreu, three promising young bullfighters aiming for the top ranks.
The excitement will rise on Friday, 14th March, with the first corrida de toros, featuring Miguel Ángel Perera, Paco Ureña, and Fernando Adrián facing a fierce lineup from El Parralejo. This promises to be an evening of powerful bullfighting, where art and bravery will go hand in hand.
Saturday, 15th March, will bring a special moment: Alejandro Chicharro’s alternativa (ceremony to become a full matador), accompanied by two modern legends, Talavante and Roca Rey. The bulls from Victoriano del Río and Toros de Cortés will test their skill and courage.
On Sunday, 16th March, the fair will offer a double treat. The morning will showcase the art of rejoneo (bullfighting on horseback) with bulls from Fermín Bohórquez, featuring a stellar lineup of Rui Fernandes, Diego Ventura, and Lea Vicens — leading figures in the discipline.
In the afternoon, the stars return to the ring with a trio of contemporary bullfighting icons: Manzanares, Roca Rey, and Tomás Rufo, who will face bulls from Jandilla and Vegahermosa.
The final stretch of the fair will feature moments of great depth. On Monday, 17th March, with bulls from Juan Pedro Domecq, Castella, Daniel Luque, and Emilio de Justo — three stylists with distinct but captivating approaches — will take to the ring.
Tuesday, 18th March, will see Manzanares, Talavante, and Juan Ortega facing the bulls from Puerto de San Lorenzo and La Ventana del Puerto, promising unforgettable performances.
The finale on Wednesday, 19th March, will feature a mano a mano (head-to-head) between Román and Borja Jiménez, who will face the highly anticipated bulls from La Quinta, known for appealing to purist fans. This duel will deliver the purest, most courageous toreo to close the fair.
Adding to the festivities will be the popular events deeply rooted in Valencian tradition. On Friday, 14th March, at 10:00 p.m., the desencajonada (release of bulls into the ring) of bulls from Arriazu will take place, followed on Saturday, 15th March, by a recortadores contest (bull-leaping competition) in the morning and an International Bullfighting Festival in the evening.
The Fallas Fair 2025 promises to be a celebration of tauromaquia in all its forms. The Plaza de Toros de Valencia, a stage for countless legendary moments, will once again become the epicentre of art and bravery. On its sands, under the March sun, fans will witness unforgettable afternoons of glory and emotion.
