The following day (Sunday the 10th), Román’s bet will take place, fighting six bulls from different herds, among them an “Albaserrada” from Victorino, to celebrate in style his presence, for a decade, in the top ranks of the bullfighting ranks. And after a break of a couple of days, the festivities resume on Wednesday the 13th, with the novillada de promoción sin picadores in which, in front of José Cruz’s cattle, there is regional representation with the schools of Valencia and Castellón, but also the presence of the schools of Madrid, Arles, Albacete and Nîmes.

The last festejo menor, on Thursday 14th, serves as a prelude to the main event of the fair. The veteran Niño de las Monjas, who tasted the sweetness of triumph in this same bullring two years ago, together with two of the most brilliant newcomers on the minor roster, Jarocho and Javier Zulueta. Jarocho finished last year at the top of the ranking, with victories in Valladolid and Ciudad Rodrigo, even overcoming a serious mishap in Pedrajas de San Esteban.

Zulueta, for his part, stood out greatly in his time as a novillero without picadors, winning the Alfarero de Plata and the cycle of novilladas at La Maestranza, among others. He has announced his debut with picadors in the next Feria de Olivenza. The three of them will fight Fuente Ymbro bulls, a classic Las Fallas bullfighter due to his brilliant regularity.
